ICYMI: Reality TV star to police: “You can’t arrest me…”

Buddy Valastro, lead man of Carlo’s Bakery and the world-famous television show Cake Boss, was arrested this past Thursday on charge of driving while intoxicated, according to a report by NBC New York.

The officer following Valastro stated that he was swerving in and out of the other lane and pulled him over in his new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette just after 1 a.m. It was also said Valastro had a strong smell of alcohol on his breath once he was pulled over.

But this wasn’t all. TMZ’s Harvey Levin tweeted, when pleading his case to the police Valastro said, “You can’t arrest me…I’m the Cake Boss…”

Valastro eventually admitted to being under the influence, stating he had “a couple drinks about 30 or 40 minutes ago.” (via @NYDailyNews) He was later placed in handcuffs and arrested after failing the Breathalyzer with a .09 blood-alcohol level (over the .08 limit).

The newspaper reported he was released without bail after rejecting the offer to plea guilty, and was in court Thursday morning. Valastro was then charged with driving while intoxicated and driving while ability impaired.

When asked for a statement, TLC said they: “are thankful no one was harmed. This is a personal matter for Buddy and his family.”
