Assumption College’s Campus Activities Board hosted its first Paint Night event Saturday, October 4th in Hagan. More than 100 students participated in a guided painting session led by local paint shop, Just Paint. Students enjoyed free hot beverages and deserts while going through to steps to paint an autumn scene on canvas. Although each student re-created the same scene, each painting was unique.
The Assumption Campus Activities Board, known by most as “CAB”, is responsible for 90% of event programming for students on and off of campus. Events range from weekend activities, such as Paint Night, to the Spring Concert and ski-trips. Unique to many similar colleges in New England, CAB programs every weekend with free events for students. Occasionally, events similar to Paint Night will require pre-registration for participation. For the first event of its kind alongside its pre-registration, the quantity of student participation left CAB with a wait-list and unanticipated, overwhelming success. CAB Weekend Entertainment Executive Kodey Bryce was responsible for coordinating Paint Night. He said, “it was a terrific turn out and we got a lot of great response from the students asking when the next Paint Night is happening”.
